Bergman Vass created a sleek, yet tranquil refuge for a repeat client who desired a visual oasis here in contrast to the energetic color and bold artwork of their primary residence. Wood floors, a floating stair, and distinctive textures are transportive; a modern Malibu sensibility is adapted to life on the Atlantic Ocean. The indoor and outdoor spaces flow with a luxe minimalism accented by dramatic lighting and precise detailing. A glass pendant fixture floats in the foyer while vertical, 4-foot long, bleached walnut sconces offer sculptural focal points. Glass partitions, pristine limestone flooring, and Amuneal cabinetry offer transparency and glow in balance to the soft color of the custom wood finishes in bleached ash, which is used throughout the home.
